Exchanging old or broken hardware key
Upgrade CPC MacCaption Software
1. You can upgrade (or time extension) your CPC software from any level to a higher level (i.e., MacCaption DV to MacCaption NLE) via email. You do not need to send the USB hardware key via mail to be replaced. We will upgrade the key via internet.
2. Run the CPC MacCaption software. Go to the Help menu and click on Upgrade License

3. Now click on
Display License ID.
4. Copy and paste the string of characters to sales@cpcweb.com
We will email
you a *.dat file.
Now you need to follow step 3 inside the Upgrade License screen to
upgrade your software to a higher level.
Install most recent version of software:
You can download the most recent version of the software from our
Software Downloads page: www.cpcweb.com/download/mac-download.htm#MacCaption
Now follow these steps:
1. After downloading the latest version of the software drag it to
your OS X Application folder. (Keep a note of your settings with any
additional caption and TC devices used with MacCaption)
2. Disconnect the USB hardware key from the computer.
3.
Connect the USB hardware key to the computer and make sure that the
built-in light is turned on.
4.
If the light is not turned on please download and install the HASP
drivers for your USB hardware key from our website: www.cpcweb.com/macsupport/nccdownloadsupport.shtml
5.
Once the USB hardware keys light is on you will be able to
run the new upgraded version of your MacCaption software.

CPC Windows Software
(This
will only work if your received the hardware key after 1/1/2002)
1. You can upgrade (or time extension) your CPC software from any level to a higher level (i.e., CPC-700 to CPC CaptionMaker-700NLE) via email. You do not need to send the USB or the parallel hardware key via mail to be replaced. We will upgrade the key via internet.
2. Run the CPC software. Go to the Help menu and click on Upgrade License
(If you do not find the menu item Upgrade License, download the software from www.cpcweb.com/download/CpcHaspUtility.exe and follow the steps below.)

3. Now click on
Display License ID.
4. Copy and paste the string of characters to sales@cpcweb.com
We will email
you a *.dat file. After you receive the .dat file, you need to
follow step 3 inside the Upgrade License screen to upgrade your
software to a higher level.

Connect the USB or Parallel hardware key to the computer and make
sure that the built-in light is turned on.
3. If the light is not turned on please download and install the HASP drivers for your USB hardware key from our website: www.cpcweb.com/download/cmplete_downloads.htm#Utilities
Exchanging USB or parallel hardware key
There
is no charge for a broken or non-working hardware key.
There is $50 fee, plus shipping charge to replace a parallel key with
a USB key.
You need to send the old key to us via FedEx/UPS (with tracking number), and
then we will send the new key. It might take a couple of days all together. If you can't afford to be without a key for that period, we can do the following.
1. We will send you a USB time key - it will be programmed to run for 7 days.
2. The day that you receive the time key, verify that it is working, and send the
old key to us via UPS or FedEx so it is trackable.
3. Upon receiving your old key, we will send you the new key.
4. The day you receive the new USB key, verify that it is working, and send the time
key to us via UPS or FedEx.
Sorry for all the steps, but we have had problems with other customers, and therefore must follow the above procedure.
